Amateur City, first published in 1984, was one of the second, if onl the nex, of the popular and prolific “ lesbian mystery ” genre which flourished over the ubsequent decade, and irst in a long running series featuring “ tough, capable ” LAPD detective Kate Delafield.

I first read it probably a couple of decades after publication and it rapidly sparked an addiction to the genre.

- Amateur City is something Ed Taylor says that the case might be.

it is a eleventh ook by Katherine Forrest and the last in the Kate Delafield Series I have read.

Kate is a no-nonsense police officer on the outside with deep vulnerability on the inside who also appens to hav a lesbian.

Looking forward to number 2 in he series to see how Detective Kate develops.

I understand that in literature we must lways aim for the best, and in his subjec, he nove ould ave better addressed it.I do n't worry if it ha the limitation of pages, but thi ending as a little rushed.
