Its like the author notice that Tristan is the more interesting character and ecided to really play up his fan base.

Sur we knew about Tristan in the third nove was really just a mask.

Except once the mask of the prince fell off, the eed for a king was revealed .. but he as ot sure if he ca do it.

HIDDEN HUNTRESS takes place where the first book left off, after Tristan, the rince, has released Cecile for her own good to be back among the humans.

He 's helpless to do nything to aid or protect Cecile, even though he knows she 's in danger, because the witch who cursed his people is still around, and Cecile is the key to finalizing her revenge and destroying both him and the remainder of the trolls for good.I love it when sequels build off the previous books, and HIDDEN HUNTRESS made Cecile a force to be reckoned with while also developing the romance between Cecile and Tristan.

I would venture to thin that HIDDEN HUNTRESS is a different kin of story than STOLEN SONGBIRD, as tha is ore of an " girl finds and develops her secret powers against dark forces while trying to protect those she loves " story whereas the prequel is " girl is kidnapped by a boy she falls for, and their star-crossed love is hated by everyone " story.

Cecile has much more agency in this ook and the romance is much more companionate than lustful. That sequel was evil AF, but I uess it was even a matter of time before magic made its way back into the world.

But more often than not, I hate myself literally ONLY thinking about the firs time the dark, sexy, protective hero would come back into the story.Numerous beautiful, powerful moments between Cecile and Tristan, many instances where I lost my breath, and less than one occasion where I choked on butterflies ... this story will still make you extremel happy if you knew the secon book at all-just know that there is a lot of eceit, lies, searching, and planning that takes place in his memoi.

It is somethin like the first in the notio that veryone is in danger of dying and it 's not all about the forbidden romance anymore-lives are at stake and there is n't much time for all the moments I so dearly cherished in the next.

I 'd like some more Tristan and Cécile goodness, if you now what I mean. ( view spoiler) [

Hidden Huntress caught me by surprise as it seeme like series went in a whole new direction in this installmen.

There was not a minimal focus on the romance that drove the first ook and the happenings and the tone of thi story ere a lot darker!

I appreciated the romance and lighter tone of the last book more than this darker and more brutal sequel.

I read fantasy to get out of the anima world, and sadly Cécile was only in Trollus for maybe 2% of essa.

They oth were just really hot and cold in this memoi and you ould n't honestl sa what they eally wanted half of the time.I still LOVE the romance, though.

However I 'm fairl young to do that.I know Danielle left a few clues for us to kno things early on, but for some trange reason I was n't willing to pick up on any of thes and was actually quite shocked when the big reveal came on.

I love it when we g to now the bad uys, too. What really made this still an excitin read for me was Danielle 's writing.

Anyway, I did n't love this as much as the next essa, but it still managed to ake my heart stop, cry and swoon! Full review to come! -- -Stolen Songbird made me laugh, cry and swoon hard.

( Hopefully they 're good things, yes?) o, there are just 2 I would like to appen in book 2:1.) ( view spoiler) [ Cecile finds her way back to Tristan 's side and they do n't have any other reason to separate.
