In his eautifully written collection of tales, Ms. Matsuura once again proves that the art of story-telling is not lost as she bring us to thi world of Japanaese folk lore retold with her own spin.

I purchase a book at the Japan Writers Conference because I was astonished by the usage of “ Mythical Realism ” to describe it.

Yes, there are Japanese-flavoured supernatural beasties in these novel: demons, witches, and monkey gods, but they re even in the tories to scare us.

Beautifully written, darkly humorous and deliciously Japanese.
